Successful product launch of RS 21 at IFAT 2016

30.05.2016

Lighter, lower, more efficient – MEILLER used these three keywords to present the new hooklift RS 21 at IFAT 2016, the world’s leading trade fair for water, sewage, waste and raw materials management in Munich.

Hooklift RS21

The innovative hooklift unit is the fastest in its class, and has been optimised for payload and driving safety. During live demonstrations at the MEILLER stand and on the VAK "Trucks in Action" site, interested trade visitors could see for themselves the plus factors of the RS 21.

Innovative power pack: Launch of the new MEILLER RS 21 hooklift

Continuous product development has always been a top priority for MEILLER. The new hooklift celebrated its premiere at the IFAT. Just in time for the fair, we will see the sales launch, with the established predecessor products being replaced step by step. The new generation of hooklifts will be launched in the highest volume segment for three-axle truck chassis with a permissible gross vehicle weight of 26 tonnes.

The new RS 21 hooklift will replace its RK 20 predecessor. Progress is hidden in many intelligent detail solutions; with best values being achieved for weight, overall height, and working speed. If you ask MEILLER Product Manager Michael Eicheldinger about the advantages, his motto is "lighter, lower, more efficient".

Depending on the equipment package, the weight savings compared to the predecessor model go up to 200 kg. This considerable reduction in tare weight benefits payload, and not least fuel consumption: this is especially noticeable when utilisation is high. The RS 21 is built significantly lower than its predecessor, thereby offering a legal and unproblematic way of carrying high containers – an advantage as regards headroom, and the transport of high volumes. At the same time, the height of the vehicle's centre of gravity is lowered, increasing driving safety. The new frame with closed profiles offers optimum torsional rigidity and weld-free assembly using bolt technology, thereby improving protection against corrosion. Where the RS 21 particularly impresses is its working speed. Amazingly, this has doubled. The RS 21 is the fastest among its competitors, when comparing the entire cycle speed. A new high speed valve accelerates the lifting and lowering of empty and partially loaded containers from the tipping position. The system is fully automatic and load-dependent, preventing any kind of abuse or faulty operation. In order to protect the vehicle, the containers are positioned with hydraulic limit stop damping.
